Alpha Omega Publications® is pleased to recognize Jeanette Drew of Byron, Georgia, as AOP's Homeschool Parent of the Month for February 2010. Jeanette Drew
Always looking for new and creative ways to make learning more effective, Jeanette loves using a hands-on approach when it comes to homeschooling, and she's known for actively engaging her children with fun-filled ideas. For example, while teaching her children what it's like to be an artist like Michelangelo, she had her children lie on their backs under their desks while painting a picture. Making history and science come to life, Jeanette has also had her children mummify a chicken and hunt for bones in the field behind their house. In addition, her children study music and art by getting their hands into everything they do. Needless to say, her children are quite excited to start every homeschool day!
Even though Jeanette is busy teaching her own children, she also takes time to help other homeschooling families and has inspired others to be better teachers to their children. One homeschooling friend commented, "What a great picture Jeanette is of God's design for a teacher!"
